From classics to contemporaries, this Lewisham Irish Community's Centre book club explores and celebrates one of Ireland’s greatest cultural exports.
Our club launched on Tuesday 2nd December. In our first session, we read and discussed James Joyce’s short story 'Eveline': a tale of a teenager of a Dublin teenager who plans to leave her family to marry a sailor in Buenos Aires.
For each new session, we will explore a new set of short stories or novella. All texts will be provided by the Community Centre via the Catford Library.
Free sandwiches, tea, coffee and other refreshments are available during the session.
