The Survivors Integrated Service (SIS) is a unique service supporting former residents and survivors of Irish institutions; Mother and Baby and County Homes, Industrial Schools, Magdalene Laundries and other Reformatory institutions. Many survivors are older and elderly whose experiences of residential and institutional abuse continue to impact their lives.
The SIS is committed to delivering a professional, responsive and individualised service, placing lived experience at the heart of everything we do. Using holistic, person-centred and trauma-informed approaches, we support survivors across London and the South of England.
The service provides emotional and practical support, advocacy, information and signposting, and facilitated access to counselling and other specialist services. Additionally, the service creates opportunities for social connection, cultural engagement and community building. Our aim is to achieve the best possible outcomes for survivors, enabling individuals to navigate life’s challenges within a safe and supportive environment.
The Survivor Support Outreach Caseworker will play a key role in delivering the Survivors Integrated Service and its mission to provide an open door, culturally sensitive and trauma informed support service to former residents and survivors of Irish institutions.
This role will provide individual emotional and practical support, advocacy, information and guidance, helping survivors navigate complex life circumstances and access appropriate services and opportunities. The role will be delivered both from the London Irish Centre and through outreach appointments within the community, ensuring support is accessible and responsive to the needs of survivors.
