CSC Exemption for the Safe Pass Card
Please see below exemption for the Safe Pass Card, it is important to understand this will exempt the person completing the touchscreen test (17.50), they will still have to get a labour card.
You can apply for this card if you have either: Passed the Level One Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. Or Hold a valid Site Safety Plus Health and Safety Awareness Course certificate. All applicants must also pass the Operatives CITB Health Safety & Environment test. This card is valid for five years and can be renewed subject to the above conditions being.
HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT TEST
To apply for a CSCS card you must have the appropriate construction related qualifications and training and, in most cases, you must pass the CITB Health Safety and Environment Test within the previous two years. Exemptions to this requirement are listed below.

AIM OF THE TEST
To examine knowledge across a wide range of topics to improve safety and productivity on site. It is usually taken as a PC–based touch screen test. Apart from the exemptions described below, everyone applying for a CSCS card must pass the appropriate health safety and environment test.

EXEMPTIONS
If you have achieved a construction related NVQ or SVQ within the last two years and are applying for a CSCS card for the occupation the NVQ or SVQ relates to, you may not have to pass a CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test. Please check with your training provider. This is only available to new applications and cannot be used for card renewals.
CSCS has a mutual recognition agreement with SOLAS (previously known as FAS (Eire) Safe pass) which acts as an exemption to the Operative or Specialist CITB Health and Safety Test requirement providing that it has been completed within two years of the application being made.
However, please note that SOLAS is not acceptable as an exemption to the Supervisor or Manager and Professional (MAP) level CITB Health, Safety and Environment test.
