County Westmeath – Contae na hIarmhí

Comedian and actress Alison Spittle tells us all about why her home county is a hidden gem itself in her video.

Alison Spittle is an award–winning comedian, writer and podcaster. You can hear her podcast Wheel of Misfortune on the BBC Sounds app and hopefully see her live work soon.

Her hometown is Ballymore, near to one of her favourite spots the Hill of Uisneach, an ancient site where the goddess Ériu – where the name Éire originates – is supposedly buried. There’s more than one shoutout to Joe Dolan and an interruption from a London pigeon in her video below.
