The London Irish Centre is a charity that supports the Irish community in London.

Our welfare service is the largest for Irish people outside of Ireland. Each year we work with thousands of people to improve their housing, income, access to health, and social inclusion opportunities.

Our services are accredited by the Advice Quality Standard, the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation and the London Housing Foundation – Day Centre Standards.

The welfare department provides the following services:

  • Advice on housing, benefits, debt
  • Older persons outreach
  • Telephone information helpline
  • Advice on moving to London and returning to Ireland
  • Employment support
  • Day services for older people
  • IT and art classes
  • Outreach services for Survivors of Institutional Childhood Abuse
  • Missing persons service

Our charity delivers a diverse programme of Irish arts, cultural and community events, offering opportunities to connect with Irish culture. We are proud to showcase the finest Irish talent to London audiences and to offer a taste of home to the city’s Irish community.

Our main premises in Camden Square is the oldest and largest Irish Centre in Britain, and provides a warm Irish welcome to all who visit. We also have offices in West Kensington and Kilburn and provide outreach services to a number of other London boroughs.

While many things have changed since our inception in 1954, The London Irish Centre continues to meet the changing needs of the Irish community, from the original 1950’s emigrants, now an ageing community, to recent emigrants whose London journey is just beginning.
