Register here Visit WebsiteIrish in Britain's Cuimhne Thoughtful Thursday on Vessels of Memory: Community Archives and Creative Arts with guest speaker Emma O'Rourke.
Emma O'Rourke will talk about her experience of researching Irish migration to London from the perspective of a second generation Irish woman, navigating a now much different landscape.
She will share stories uncovered in the Brent Museum and Archives, and reflect upon how creative activities may be used to spark and preserve memory.
This session may be of interest to:
community members of all ages from across Irish in Britain, including people with older Irish friends and relatives and family carers of people living with dementia.
front line staff, volunteers and trustees across our network of organisations seeking to engage in reminiscence work with older people or support younger generations trying to understand the experiences of older Irish relatives
community workers and artists interested in using creative and expressive arts in ways that can bring our community together.
Emma is a London Irish artist working with the human condition, archival material and narrative.
To facilitate everyone's comfort, you can join this Thoughtful Thursday with a cup of tea without being visible or heard.
As always, our Thoughtful Thursday sessions are free of charge and open to people of all communities - please spread the word!
