With St. Patrick’s Day parades and in person celebrations cancelled again this year, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting a further Facebook Live Concert on St. Patricks Day (1pm GMT), involving a fantastic line up of singers and performers from around the world.
This event will also mark the launch of our 21st Anniversary birthday and our Fundraising drive to raise €21,000 in 2021 (21 in 21)! Albeit we are all tired of Zoom and all the other online platforms, they have been pivotal in keeping us all connected through these unsettling times, at a time when we must stay apart.
Everyone wants to be Irish on St. Patricks day and particularly for the Irish abroad, including those of Irish decent, it is a day to be proud of our heritage and being part of a global family.
We have world renowned singers, musicians, dancers and performers from many iconic locations to include … Kelli McGrory – Fanad Lighthouse in Co. Donegal; Broken Pokers – Perth; Lisa Canny – London; George Murphy – Dublin; Paula Carroll – Ashford Castle, Co. Mayo, Emma O Sullivan – Connemara, Co. Galway.
We will be announcing a few more surprise acts this week so watch this space!Established in 2000, Safe Home Ireland is an Irish emigrant support service, based in Co. Mayo that provides a range of services to recently returned Irish emigrants and those who may be considering moving back home in the future.
We provide a free/confidential information and advocacy service; carry out home visits and outreach to recently returned Irish and we assist qualifying older Irish emigrants to explore and secure housing back home in Ireland.
One of our main challenges is in promoting our service so that the Irish community abroad are aware of who we are, what we do, and how they can access the supports and services that we offer. We hope that this event will help us to spread the word about Safe Home, allow us all to feel connected in a time when we must stay apart and provide an afternoon of ‘Ceol, Caint agus Craic’, along the way.
This is a FREE event but if you would like to support our work, please feel free to make a donation – via our Go Fund Me page (link to follow) or via PayPal. Details HERE.
