Irish in Britain Cuimhne Champions invite you to join a lively tour of the Irish in Britain Archives

London Metropolitan University Calcutta House, Old Castle Street, London E1 7NT

This visit will be hosted by Dr Tony Murray, Director of the Irish Writers in London Summer School and Curator of the Archive of the Irish in Britain.

Founded in 1984, this unique collection of documents, audio and video recordings, books, photographs and ephemera catalogues the history of the Irish in Britain from the late 19th century to the present day.

  • Inspired by Irish history and heritage?
  • Curious to learn more about what life may have been like for the Irish in Britain in the past?
  • Sitting on treasures from your own family or charity (posters, pamphlets, leaflets, banners. films, newsletters, photographs) and wondering what to do with them?
  • Looking for a public archive that can help make your treasures accessible to future generations?
  • Free on 10 July?

Then please contact Cuimhne Coordinator Zibiah to book your space.

It’s free to attend but places must be reserved in advance.

We will be meeting at 1.45pm for a 2pm start in the reception of London Metropolitan University, which is a few minutes’ walk from Aldgate East station, District or Hammersmith & City line)

The visit will finish by 4.45pm.
