Step UP – An Irish in Britain framework
An Irish in Britain framework to help improve the capacity of small community, organisations, clubs and societies.
Step UP offers the opportunity to reflect on how you manage your group and sets standards for you to work towards. It is designed to help build a strong foundation in offering high quality services and a supportive learning environment for staff, volunteers and committee members. Working through Step UP will improve your chances of success with funders because you will be better prepared and able to show your group is well run.
The statements and standards in each section give you a goal and will be compatible with other quality standards you may encounter. So, if you decide at a later stage to take on a more comprehensive quality system you will find that all the work you have done to complete Step Up is completely relevant and transferable.
Step UP is designed to be user–friendly, which means you can dip in and out of each section as you like. The sections cover all of the important areas of managing your group. For ease of reading the term ‘group’ is used to address all community organisations, clubs and societies throughout the resource.
See the standards and resources for more information. Step UP is designed to help you develop good practice. We welcome your suggestions and comments on its use. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
