Coronary Heart Disease, Stroke, Hypertension
There is clear evidence of excess, and in some cases increasing, mortality among Irish men and women from coronary heart disease, hypertension and stroke. There is evidence of significant economic inactivity due to poor health among Irish people in Britain particularly among men from the age of fifty onwards.
Keeping an active healthy lifestyle can help prevent these health related issues. Walking, cycling, running, football, tennis and all forms of sport as well as a healthy social lifestyle is important for both physical and mental well being. Many local authorities and Irish services have healthy activities in place.
